Equistar Training Center is owned and operated by Rodney and Sharon Eckenrode, whose passion for the
Arabian horse helped create their show horse facility. Casey Stichter is the assistant trainer at Equistar
Training Center. Everyone at Equistar Training Center takes great pride in providing excellent care,
training, and showing of your Arabian show horses.

Rodney Eckenrode is a knowledgeable and seasoned Arabian horse trainer.
Rodney grew up with horses throughout his childhood. He started out riding
and driving pleasure horses. Rodney’s family bought their first Arabian
horse and began raising and showing Arabian horses. Rodney was definitely
hooked on the Arabian horse and knew he wanted to train Arabian horses as
his career. Rodney has been training and showing Arabian horses
professionally, since the age of 18. He has a passion for showing Arabian
horses, especially in the halter division. Rodney has had many champions at
highly recognized shows such as, Scottsdale, Buckeye, Regionals, Israeli
Nationals, Canadian Nationals, and the United States National
Championships.

Sharon Eckenrode grew up on a farm, riding pleasure horses.
Sharon rode her first Arabian horse during a riding lesson, when she
was 14 years old and knew there was something special about the
Arabian horse. She loved the flexibility and how personable the
Arabian lesson horse was. Sharon is passionate about the Arabian
horse. The Arabian horse was very influential in deciding Sharon’s
career pathway. Sharon began training and showing Arabians
professionally in 2000. She has trained and shown in many divisions
including Hunter Pleasure, Western Pleasure, Country Pleasure, and
English Pleasure. Sharon enjoys all the hard work and effort that is
required to train and show Arabians.

. Casey Stichter is the assistant trainer at Equistar Training
Center. Casey started riding horses when he was six years old
and has continued to make a career with horses. In 2004, while
on the Youth Judging Team, Casey received a United States
Nationals Top Ten award for the Halter division. He has shown
successfully in the halter, western pleasure, hunter pleasure,
and sport horse divisions during his junior and amateur years.
Casey’s professional career with Arabian horses started in
2008. Casey is a very dependable and hard-working horseman,
who excels in many show divisions. These include western
pleasure, hunter pleasure, halter, and sport horse. Casey is a
very important part of team Equistar.

Equistar Training Center is located in a quiet, rural setting on 17 acres. Our Arabian show horse facility is only 30
minutes from the Harrisburg International Airport and less than five miles off Interstate 81. Equistar Training
Center is a complete Arabian horse facility with the following amenities:
34 box stalls that are 12’ x 12’
70’ x 165’ indoor arena
5-horse Equicizer for exercising and conditioning horses.
State-of-the-art grooming stalls and wash stalls.
Several pastures and paddocks for turning out horses.
